Modern Art and Surrealism

In the 1900s artists made a clean break with the past, focusing on new artistic styles. The modernist period, which lasted about 40 years as a worldwide movement, brought abstraction to the forefront of art.

We will discuss this movement, along with Surrealism in the wake of WWI. Together these movements paved the way for new forms of thought, which would lead us to the future of contemporary artistic practice.
