Seasonic Pushes the Fanless Envelope to 700W, Including 80 Plus Titanium

Each year we look forward to the next big fanless PSU. Seasonic did not disappoint this year, with the new Prime Fanless TX-700. This replaces the Prime Titanium Fanless 600W as the company's most powerful PSU of its kind. Its connectivity is updated to include two 4+4 pin EPS connectors, up to six 6+2 pin PCIe power, and up to twelve SATA power connectors. The best part? It holds onto its >94% 80 Plus Titanium efficiency even at 115VAC. Ripple noise suppression has been tightened to 20 mV, and micro-tolerance load regulation to 0.5%. Seasonic picked the choicest aluminium electrolytic capacitors, and worked on improving the thermals even further. The company backs their design effort with a 12-year warranty.

Seasonic also unveiled the compact 12 cm-long Prime Fanless PX-500 if your requirements aren't too steep. This 500W unit boasts of a respectable 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, the same ripple suppression and and MTLR features as its bigger sibling, and the same electrical/thermal protections. And you still get the 12-year warranty so the PSU outlasts everything else in your rig. The PX-500 has enough juice and straws for HEDT, with two 4+4 pin EPS, and four 6+2 pin PCIe.

I so wanted to go fanless last I changed my PSU. But I couldn't find one (I don't need much, my current 650W is overkill for a mid-range CPU+GPU combo) and I'm not going to replace a perfectly working Seasonic PSU now.

Nice. PSU fan is often underestimated as a noisy component.

with 750w/850w hybrid fan psus being quite affordable and the vast majority of plleple running a single card it's been solved quite some time ago.
I bought mine in 2014 and the fan never started once.Worst I ran was 980Ti at 1.5GHz and oc'd 4790K.Easy peasy to run fanless even during hot summer.

It's nice that they are increasing the power envelope of their fanless product line. But, for my personal build, I am more interested in a 400-ish Watt fanless PSU with Titanium rating. For the time being, I'll probably just replace a ball-bearing ADDA fan in my G360 with Noctua Redux.

Don't think I will be purchasing Season Products until I see full reviews on their PSU's in future. I purchased their Model S12III which was advertised to use JAP Capacitors.

Later on it was discovered that "100% Japanese Capacitors sticker and advertisement was bogus". It use capacitors all manufactured in China designed by another company in Taiwan called TEAPO. It was very interested to find out that Seasonic does not even build some of their own PSU units. At least the PSU I purchased was outsourced and built by RSY. Seems like SEASONIC is flying on their reputation alone as far as their mid/low tier unit goes.

I sent in a detailed email regarding this to Seasonic and never got a reply back.

Yeah, they have significantly lowered the bar for their inexpensive units. Now they are even using sleeve bearing fans in S12 and ECO series, which wasn't the case before.

Still running my 400watter Seasonic fanless PSU the original version they made of them. It's held up nicely and I recall HardOCP torture tested it when it launched and defiantly surpassed expectations. I think it was underrated and came out being closer to a 600w PSU in practice.

For sure, and even these low noise ones can often "click".

I have a Leadex 1300W and a Seasonic that both have clicky fans. :(
