Deerhunter are reportedly set to release a new album.
The Atlanta band, consisting of Bradford Cox, Moses Archuleta, Frankie Broyles, Josh McKay and Lockett Pundt, issued their most recent record in 2013 in the form of ‘Monomania’. Now, frontman Cox claims they have a new LP on its way.

A Reddit user has reported that Cox recently made the announcement during his set with side-project Atlas Sound at NXNE festival. Cox allegedly told the crowd that a new Deerhunter album is coming “really soon” and that it “sounds like INXS”.
The band’s guitarist Lockett Pundt previously hinted via Twitter that fans could hear new material if they saw them live in October, suggesting that tour dates will be unveiled shortly.
Deerhunter cancelled a European tour in September 2013, citing “unforeseen family circumstances” as the reasoning.
Meanwhile, Bradford Cox was hospitalised after being hit by a car in December 2014. The musician posted pictures of himself in a neck brace from the hospital on Instagram and explained that he was in “incredible pain” after being hit by a car. The incident happened in Cox’s home state of Georgia.

Cox posted two pictures from hospital. In the first image he was seen in a neck brace. The picture was captioned: “Was hit by car”. The second was of his father and featured the caption, “Still waiting for X-ray results or any real diagnoses. Can’t move much. Incredible pain. Thank The Lord God I am here and my dad is here with me.”
Deerhunter released their debut album ‘Turn It Up Faggot’ in 2005, followed by ‘Cryptograms’ (2007), ‘Microcastle’ (2008), ‘Weird Era Cont’ (2008), ‘Halcyon Digest’ (2010) and 2013’s ‘Monomania’.
