Both UNESCO World Heritage sites, Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este are must-see examples of the of the magnificence of Roman architecture in the surroundings of the city. Founded in 1215 BCE on the Tiburtini Mountains, Tivoli is a splendid city 28 km(17 miles) from Rome, famous for its sulfur mineral water springs used since ancient times and still today.

A surreal city, in Tivoli you can relive the ancient splendor of the emperor Adriano and that one of the Renaissance times, like in a fairy tale.
Jewish Roma’s tour will also bring you to Villa Adriana. Built between 118 and 138 CE from Adriano over an area of at least 120 hectares (296 acres) in a green and water-rich area, near Tivoli at the foot of the Tiburtini Mountains. Adriano was a cultured emperor and passionate for Greek culture. He particularly loved architecture, in fact he took part in the construction of this amazing villa and of the Temple of Venus in Rome. Villa Adriana includes residential buildings, thermal baths, nymphs, pavilions, gardens in a completely unusual distribution, which does not reflect the usual sequence of villas and domus (Roman houses), even imperial sites.
You’ll visit also a Renaissance architecture masterpiece, realizing Villa D’Este was an idea of the Cardinal Ippolito II D’Este who, through this project, revived the splendor of the courts of Ferrara, Rome, Fointanebleau and the magnificence of Villa Adriana. The villa is characterized by an impressive concentration of fountains, caves, water games and hydraulic music, and is a model often emulated in the European gardens of mannerism and baroque.
