The Beach

(0)

A typical Adriatic beach with fine golden sand, the Lignano seafront is around eight km long stretching from the river Tagliamento estuary to the Terra Mare tourist port which overlooks the lagoon and it ranges from 80 metres to 150 metres in width. Access to the beach is free. Lignano's sixty hectares of beach are equipped with cabins, loungers, deck chairs and umbrellas. There are easy access routes from the beach offices to the shore for disabled people and mothers with pushchairs. Entertainment and exercise activities for both adults and children are organised along the whole beach. Between beach concessions nos. 6 and 7 at Lignano Sabbiadoro, there is a veritable holiday village for all the family which is open every day from morning to night and contains a gym and dance, entertainment and fun free activities for adults and children. For sport lovers there are acquagym and bodytonic classes every day from June to September as well as fun Latin American and group dance courses. There are also games on the beach for children and miniclub sport, educational, baby dance and themed parties events.

The sea and the blue flag

They don't fly on many beaches because they aren't easy to get but Lignano Sabbiadoro has been able to boast one since 1990 without a break. We're talking about the European Blue Flag, a much sought after accolade assigned to the most professional organised and trustworthy beach resorts from the water health, organisational and environmental points of view.
