I bought this to travel with when sitting in the airport. I am not an iPhone, iPod type of person so I wanted something else. I have had a Creative ZEN Version M for years but the screen is really small on it. This Version W not only holds several hours of my music I have digitized over the years, but several of my favorite video documentary to watch when sitting around waiting for a plane. I had charged it full and it was about 5 days before I use it and in testing the battery life, it played for over 6 hours before the battery indicator went down and turned yellow. The only slight drawback for some may be it is a little heavy compared to some of the newer smartphones that will do the same thing but then again it is almost 10 year old technology. The FM radio reception was good when I tried it, but I did not wanting to run through 40 or 50 stations trying to find one I might like so I just used the music library.Read full review

The Zen Vision W has to be the greatest Mp4 ever built, it has style, a large screen, and 30 GBs to boot. The best feature by far would have to be the uploading; upload process is alot more simple than an iPod or Zune; you simply drag and drop. Uploading videos has never been so easy either. It accepts a varity of formats to play on. Great for the car if you don't already have a DVD player. Picture qualities are amazing, and the FM is a great bonus when you want to catch the news or your favorite morning talk show. Also, have an expansion card option is great if you have a digital camera and love to share pictures with family and friends. There are some downsides however. First thing that gets to me is that it weights a great deal and is bit bulky. For guys especially who don't have too many places to place a large retangular object, it think its safe to say it'd be hard not to leave this one at home. Second, i don't like the format to edit music information. You have to sit and click each song and scroll down to edit track information to change things such as artist and song title, unlike iTunes that gives you the option to look at all your tracks all at once. Finally, No album art....I KNOW! I am just picky with that. I would just like to say to any creative representative, why would you make such a wonderful product with all these feature and not include Album art! Hope this was helpful!Read full review
The Big screen. That's the major reason. Its got the biggest and most colorful screen any portable video player has. Plays the most number of video formats. Neither Zune nor ipod play the same number of formats Also, I trust creative products as opposed to ipod, because they seem to me like monopolizing bastards. Easily upgradable (most creative products are). Battery can be changed without tearing it down. The power adapters are the same for almost all their products. I happen to own 2 other creative mp3 players and its easy to interchange chargers.
I bought mine back in the summer of 2007, and it's still going. It's fallen from 4-6 feet onto concrete more times than I can count (at least 100) and it continues to work. It's gone down the stairs twice, been in water, shook, and I've thrown it across the room in bits of anger and it just won't die. The screen finally shattered when I left my cell phone in the same pocket on top of the screen in too tight pants and tripped over a chair. Even still, about 1/5 of the screen still works and it's just right that I can still know what music I'm selecting. I will likely still use this beast for another year still, as there's really nothing else wrong with it. The built in speaker has good tone and decent volume and has survived 3 years of abuse with no quality loss. The add to selection feature is something most other mp3 players (including ipods) don't offer and it's so incredibly convenient I will never buy another player without it. The menu is setup in a very common sense way and all the features are very easily accessible. Simply put you won't find another mp3 player this nice. Especially now that you can find good shape used ones on ebay for around $100. I honestly can't say enough nice things about this fantastic and beautiful machine.Read full review
I have owned several Creative products, from the Zen Touch, to several Zen Vision-M's, and now the Zen Vision-W. While all have functioned perfectly, and I have never had a complaint with any of them, I must say that the Vision-W is the best one of them all! I love the built in speaker (for times when headphones are not an absolute must), easily accessible button touch controls, and easily programmable FM radio. As far as viewing movies and pictures, the video quality is crystal clear and excellent! The wide screen format makes watching movies easy and most enjoyable. Another great feature is the ability to use the Zen Vision as an external portable storage drive. With 30 gigs of room, this player has room for music, movies, files, photos, and a whole lot more! It interfaces easily with most computers through the enclosed usb cable, and the Creative Mediasource software is very easy to use (although you can even use Windows Explorer or similar progs to transfer files if you prefer instead). After seeing and trying my Vision-W, several of my co-workers who were die-hard IPod fans jumped on the Creative bandwagon and purchased their own Zens after being impressed with the quality, features, and ease of use. I told them "Try it, you'll like it!" and once they tried it, they DID! LOL! If you are in the market, and looking for a true high quality all-in-one portable media player, you should seriously consider the Creative Zen Vision-W! You'll be glad you did!Read full review
