hello! have you seen that cute, low-poly white cat on your dashboard? that’s sony’s mascot, Toro Inoue! hes a cat who wants to become human, most of his games centering around this idea.

all the games are japan exclusive, except one english game, which was sold in korea. toro’s first game is a tamagotchi/tomodachi life style care taker sim, tending to toros needs. it’s initial target was young adults, who could afford a playstation add-on to carry toro with you everywhere!

a later game focuses more on a younger audience, toro being a child in this game, too. you can tell the difference in merchandise and such by looking at his cheeks! little toro has swirly pink cheeks instead of round ones :-)

theres a game where toro and kuro (a black cat, a kinda rude and mischievous friend) run a news station, a game centered around the gang at school festivals, toro exploring real world environments on vacation, and the english game, toro let’s party! theres a no commentary lets play of it on youtube, but be aware the translation is pretty rough.

this game and its characters hold lots of charm! their looks just ooze early video game nostalgia. there’s lots of cute merch of them, with all kinds of collaborations (the miku one is my favorite!) theres plush, shirts, revoltech figures, keychains, calendars, and more! theyre all super cute!
