As unsuspecting man was given an opportunity of a lifetime by Dua Lipa — and he may not have realized it.

In a video shared by BBC Radio 1 on X (formerly known as Twitter), the pop star and a journalist walk up to a man on the street to preview her new song "Houdini."

In the video, a journalist and the "Levitating" singer walk up to a man who doesn't recognize her but admits he's "heard of Dua Lipa."

The clip then played back to the moment the idea came to light: "Dua, you have a new song coming out soon," the journalist said. "Shall we go and play it to someone outside the BBC before anyone else in the world has heard it?"

Then, the duo is seen sitting outside on a table as they scope out their prospects.

"We need to be careful about who we pick here. We can go for someone who might not be a Dua Lipa fan," he said. Lipa, 28, responded, "I think that's kind of what we're looking for."

Once they spot the right candidate, they walk up to the man and tell him that he's about to hear her new song.

As he listened to the track with earphones on, he smiled and nodded his head.

"Excellent," he said. "It'll be impossible not to like it... It was enjoyable, bouncy. I'd dance along to that."

He added, "Really nice to meet you. I feel privileged if you're the real person."

Lipa announced the song earlier this month on social media and shared the single artwork.

In the caption, she shared the upcoming release date and gave a nod to the song’s namesake, magician Harry Houdini, by including an emoji of handcuffs in reference to one of his most famous stunts.

Lipa has pulled a few stunts herself in the lead up to the announcement. The news of “Houdini” comes after the “Don’t Start Now” singer wiped her Instagram and TikTok and changed her profile picture on Instagram to a new photo of herself and to a kaleidoscopic image on TikTokX and streaming platforms.

Fans are speculating “Houdini” launches Lipa’s next album era. The star last released a full-length album in 2020 with the acclaimed, Grammy-winning record Future Nostalgia, featuring some of her biggest songs to date like “Levitating" and “Break My Heart.”

Although it’s been three years since the pop star released an LP, she’s dropped several popular singles since then. Most recently, the recording artist contributed “Dance the Night,” along with producer Mark Ronson, to the Barbie soundtrack

"Houdini" is out Friday.
