Michelle is legit. She is a solid teacher, no frills. Her classes are strengthening, challenging and rooted in a real knowledge and life-practice of yoga.

I started taking a class with her at Flying Yoga in the mornings about a month ago. After attending one class, I haven't missed one since. A little background: I was a yoga teacher for almost 10 years and am hyper critical of teachers in the bay area and classes I've attended. I've tried lots of classes and teachers and usually walk away disappointed in the overall experience. Michelle's class is different for me. Yay!

She's knowledgeable about the foundational strength needed to achieve more advanced postures. She can teach a class to all levels of practitioners in the same room. She doesn't use music in her classes and she focuses a LOT on core strength. Get ready to access muscles you maybe haven't used in a while, or ever!

I'm not sure if she's studied with Ana Forrest, but she has a similar quality about her ...

Whether seasoned yogi or new to your practice, I highly recommend Michelle's classes!

Want the best yoga instructor in the Bay Area? You've hit the jackpot.

If I won the lotto tomorrow, I'd call her and ask her to teach me every morning. Yep, she'd be my first call. Hey, I've heard how stressful it is when you become a millionaire overnight.

Michelle has perfected technical physiology, spiritual knowledge, emotional support and just plain fun in her yoga classes. While I appreciate the history and spiritual benefits of yoga, I admit that I go for the physical benefits. (And if you are looking for proof that yoga does a body good, check out Michelle's!)

As a former Ashtangi, I love that her classes are challenging but, respectful to our inherent limitations (I'm talking about my fear of arm balances). Every class is different, focusing on a different theme or body part. She manages to get you into positions that seems impossible in a gradual way that increases your connection with your body.

As fantastic as Michelle is, you are always her priority. She is not about showing off how she can get into scorpion which I find can be an issue for other instructors. After one of her classes, I always feel more balanced, relaxed and stronger. It doesn't hurt that I also had some good laughs along the way.

It takes someone special to teach your average gal how to pole dance. She is the perfect combo of gentle and sassy and her teaching style reflects this. She is able to bring confidence, sensuality and fun to every class-and you will learn! And she makes this a great workout, with dance, yoga and strength training...she is awesome and her classes, whether pole or yoga, are truly special.

Ok in full disclosure, I think MIchelle is the best yoga teacher on the planet so I'm not sure this is an unbiased review. I have taken Michelle's yoga classes (which are the best on the planet - I wish she had more times.) Also when my schedule was such that I couldn't make it to her class, I have taken some private lessons with Michelle. These are amazing and I credit Michelle with removing a lot of my back pain. When I go to her class regularly, I am pain free. When I get busy and fall off the wagon, I definitely notice a big difference. Lastly, I've taken 2 of MIchelle's pole dancing workshop and they are so incredible. It is totally different than yoga and totally different experience of your body but i really loved it!

Michelle is the kind of versatile, knowledgeable, yoga teacher who not only gives you a great workout, but opens your heart in the process (while strengthening your core till it kills!). If you are looking for someone to challenge you, up your flexibility, increase your core body/back strength, make you laugh while doing so and (if doing pole dancing) increase your sexuality quotient - you have found the PERFECT teacher/trainer.

      I couldn't recommend MIchelle more!

Michelle...She makes me want to come to yoga!

Michelle Cordero is a fantastic Forrest Yoga teacher. Very warm and friendly personality. She makes sure that everyone in class gets the attention they need...not easy to do on those days when there's more than 15 people in class. She doesn't teach a power yoga class but you definitely get a workout. In fact it kind of sneaks up on you. I walk out feeling refreshed and reconnected and...sore in a good way. Best of all...you walk in to her class and immediatley feel a good vibe.

I highly recommend taking one of her classes.

Over the last year of regular practice with Michelle, I have experienced a dramatic positive change in my balance, strength, posture, flexibility, endurance, confidence and emotional peace/stability.
At the time when I began following Michelle's classes, I was suffering from panic attacks while lying in bed at night. The breathing practice she teaches in harmony with poses had such a calming, therapeutic effect, I decided to try to try and use the method to quiet my panic attacks. It worked wonders. I was able to manage the panic attacks and reduce their frequency dramatically. Today, I haven't experienced an attack in over 6months.
Michelle is a phenomenal yoga instructor who can transform you physically and mentally with dedication to her practice and an openness to dare to visit those dark places we sometimes avoid.
      Thank you Michelle!
      cheers,
      Charlotte

If you want to experience challenge, insight, wisdom, and compassion - and awesome arm definition - study yoga with Michelle Cordero. Having studied yoga with teachers from India, to New York, Connecticut, California, and many places in between, I can confidently say that Michelle is among the best around. She brings a deep level of insight to the physical, emotional, and spiritual gifts and challenges of the practice of yoga. Michelle has a unique talent for intuiting where each individual yoga student is in their journey, and crafting her classes in such a way that beginners are supported and advanced students are challenged. Michelle's classes will leave you invigorated and rejuvenated at a very deep level.

Michelle teaches a pole dancing class that is a pure joy to experience! I love her teaching style! She has an uncanny ability to fit music to every individual and to the collective mood as well as the direction of the class. She is a genius at creating a safe and open space for learning and self-expression and being there when you need her but also at getting out of the way and letting flow and magic happen! I never want class to end!

Michelle is hands down the most inspiriing and talented pole dancing instructor in the Bay Area. I spent 12 weeks under her guidance learning the art and technical skill behind pole dancing. On day 1, I entered class feeling self conscious and dreading being compared to my peers. By week 3, Michelle instilled a new sense of self confidence in me that I thought I had lost years ago. She leads by example and fills her students with awe in her skill and raw intuitive talent. Michelle makes you feel strong, powerful, sexy, and always in control. I have never had so much fun in fitness and within a month I could already see muscle tone and fat loss from just one workout a week! Michelle also takes the time to get to know her students and understands when to push them and when to pull back and allow them to observe. She starts out with an amazing core warmup and her taste in music is amazing...I am always waiting to hear a new and obscure cover she has discoverd to inspire me and make me laugh. Last fall I was going througha very difficult transformation in my life. I don't know what I would have done had I not had this outlet and ability to find my inner warrier. Take her series and you will find yourself a changed woman for the better!

If I can't take a class with Michelle, I don't want to take the class at all. She has spoiled me for other instructors. She's got a great vibe...a good healing energy. Her classes run the gamut of breath work, core work, flow, relaxation, and everything in between. She's great with all sorts of people who come to her class--provides the hands assistance when she knows you need and the hands off approach when she knows you don't. Great instructor, all the way around.
