Paralia Katerini

Paralia is just a few minutes from Katerini, the capital of the Prefecture of Pieria, a city full of life, with many shops as well as many modern cafes, bars and restaurants for all needs. Local residents are always happy to help you with whatever you need and make your experience even more enjoyable.

Just 15 minutes by car from Paralia, you can visit Litochoro at the foot of Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece (Mytikas peak / 2,917 meters high). Olympus is not only famous for nature with rare and rich flora and fauna, but also for Greek mythology, since it was the home of the 12 Gods of Olympus where Zeus decided to live.

A few kilometers away you can visit the Archaeological Museum and the open-air Ancient Theater of Zeus, the "holy place" of Ancient Macedonia, as well as the starting point where Alexander the Great assembled his armies before starting the western wars of conquest.

If you want to explore a little more of Pieria, try without a second thought a visit to the Castle of Platamon, the traditional old village of Panteleimon designated as a protected settlement by UNESCO, the ancient Leivithra (the home of Orpheus in Greek mythology), the Ancient Pydna, the most important place in Pieria during the ancient and Macedonian years of Alexander the Great as well as Elatochori where the well-known ski center of Pieria operates during the winter months.
