Altostratus clouds are blue-gray or gray clouds that are made of water droplets and ice crystals. These type of clouds cover up the whole entire sky. In the thin areas of this clouds, you can barely see the sun as a round disk. these clouds form before a storm with lots of snow and/or rain. Altostratus clouds have an elevation of about 6,500 feet to 18,000 feet.
