SOWING: Plant seeds indoors at least four to six weeks before last frost for best results or sow directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Sow in baskets or pots covering seeds with ½ inch fine soil firmed down.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Space plants at least six inches apart.

GERMINATION: 12 days in soil temperature of 70 to 75 F.

Ed’s Special Advice: Plants prefer full sun to partial shade in moist well drained soil. Although this annual is usually grown as an upright annual vine it is also a nice plant to use in hanging baskets or containers or vines can be grown to provide summer privacy. When plants are well developed, in warmer weather, daily watering may be necessary if grown in containers.
