But during this time, Aldo Gucci also used the double G logo that you know today in the brand luggage and small leather bags, and it became the brand’s trademark until the knight design was out of the picture. 

The Interlocking G’s

Aldo Gucci also introduced the two interlocking G’s on Gucci’s logo as a tribute to the company’s founder. In addition to famous logos with hidden meanings, the initials simply stand for Guccio Gucci, as his son wanted to immortalize his father’s name and maintain his family’s legacy.

The two interlocked letters are in a modern sans-serif typeface, making up one of the most recognizable fashion logos in the world.

1933-Present

Gucci uses the Granjon Roman font – the wordmark and two interlocking Gs on the Gucci emblem. 

Granjon roman is an old-style serif typeface designed by George—W—Jones for a British brand of the Linotype company.
